Kelvin “KB” Bowers brings four decades of Australian basketball experience to the Reebok AABL.

Originally from Los Angeles, Bowers arrived in Australia in 1986 to play with the Gippsland Lakers before establishing an extensive coaching career across senior, representative and community basketball. His experience has included senior coaching roles with the Sunbury Jets, Bulleen Boomers, Hume City Broncos and Melton Thoroughbreds, as well as time with the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers.

Bowers coached 247 games for Sunbury, leading the Jets to the 1999 State Championship and a runner-up finish in 2000. His contribution to the association was recognised with his induction into the Sunbury Basketball Association Hall of Fame in 2026.

Alongside his senior coaching experience, KB has remained committed to developing young athletes. He currently works as Bulleen’s Junior Domestic Development Officer and leads the Future Boomers Development Program.

Known for his offensive knowledge, ability to connect with athletes and commitment to developing confident players, Bowers gives AABL athletes access to a coach with championship experience and a deep understanding of the Australian basketball landscape.
