When the inaugural AABL season tipped off in 2023, Tyrone Uwandu immediately established himself as one of the league’s premier talents.
Leading the Vipers to the inaugural AABL Grand Final, Tyrone was named 2023 AABL Co-MVP after a dominant season. Although the Vipers fell just short in a thrilling championship game against the Lions, led by fellow Co-MVP Wilson Amos, Tyrone had already proven he belonged among Australia’s brightest young prospects.
The AABL season became the launchpad for something even bigger.
Following his standout performances, Tyrone earned a full scholarship to Utah Prep, one of the premier basketball academies in the United States. There, he continued to develop against elite competition and quickly established himself as one of Australia’s rising international prospects. Today, we’re proud to celebrate Tyrone’s next milestone.
Tyrone has officially committed to Casper College in Wyoming, one of the top JUCO basketball programs in the United States, where he will continue chasing his NCAA Division I dream.
At AABL, stories like Tyrone’s are exactly why we do what we do. We exist to provide talented athletes with the platform, competition, exposure and opportunities to take the next step in their basketball journey. Congratulations, Tyrone. The entire AABL family is proud of what you’ve achieved, and we’re excited to watch what comes next.
Performance is Amplified.
